Placed in a district that was once swarmed with deli’s, beauty schools, antiques, and mom and pop stores; the midtown Fairfax district has become a gentrifying block of young men’s clothing and lifestyles emporium with the arrival of stores like Diamond Supply Co, The Hundreds and Supreme. CROOKS & CASTLES contacted us to help them transform an old thrift store in the area into an expansive storefront for their new retail and office space.

To create a more open feel between the retail space and the boulevard a portion of the front was pulled back to create a public lounge area, large enough so that even a car could drive into the store.

In order to create a space that could function as both an office and retail we subdivided the space into 3 different zones. A very transparent seamless front retail zone that opened up to Fairfax Blvd, a private secured rear office zone with a private entry for employees and guests that houses sales, marketing and design, and finally an intermediate zone which contained both dressing rooms, storage and a recording studio.
