Adam Wheeler

ADAM WHEELER graduated with an M.Arch from UCLA in 1997 and soon after began working for Frank Gehry’s office Gehry Partners. At Gehry Partners, Wheeler gained invaluable experience working on large scale international and domestic commissions including: Swatch House (Germany), Peter B. Lewis Building (Cleveland), Guggenheim (New York City), Millennium Park (Chicago), and the Experience Music Project (Seattle). In 2001, he designed the exhibition installation The Furniture of R.M Schindler for the MAK Center for Art and Architecture in Los Angeles. In 2004, Wheeler was invited to participate in the exhibition Ghetto Fabulous at the Studio Museum in Harlem. In 2003 Wheeler launched his own firm, Adam Wheeler Design. Taking lessons from Southern California’s experimental and modern design legacy Wheeler continues to cultivate his own practice using design to explore notions of site, urbanism, landscape, and sustainability.
